Orison

An Immersive Nocturne room where full-screen artwork, Cormorant titles, and layered violet depth create a cinematic threshold without overpowering the work.

How it was made

One visual idea, held from the first sketch to the last media query.

Immersive opening

One artwork field fills the first viewport. Violet-black overlays preserve image detail while giving the title and entry control a stable reading surface.

Two quiet voices

Cormorant Garamond handles titles and short poetic moments. Inter handles labels, captions, navigation, and body copy at the approved compact scale.

Curated pacing

Gallery-scale images alternate with quiet copy, an illuminated threshold, studio notes, and a deliberately unavailable edition room.

Respectful fallbacks

Reduced motion freezes the 3D scene, resilient reveals keep artwork visible during fast scrolling, and mobile crops remain intentional without WebGL.

Three release passes

Every pass ran on real desktop and phone renders, and only counted when it fixed something you could see.

  1. Composition and hierarchy

Kept one clear entry path and restored the Immersive Nocturne font and palette system so the full-screen artwork remains the dominant read.

  2. Gallery and authorship

Replaced the final generated note image with an artist-owned charcoal portrait and hardened reveals so a quick scroll never leaves work transparent.

  3. Responsive and access

Verified the phone crop, native hamburger, About and Guide layouts, disabled store control, focus behavior, and full-width overflow at 390 pixels.

A reusable recipe

Write the scene before the palette. Choose what visitors should physically feel, then set color, type, motion, and material around it.

The artwork stays in charge. Code and procedure can set the atmosphere, but they never stand in for the work.

Reduced motion, focus states, and a stable fallback ship first. Spectacle comes last.
